Instead of driving self-tapping screws directly into your ceiling material, the backing plate bonds to the interior side of the surface. The Scanstrut seal then fastens into the plate's pressed-in lock nuts using its included bolts, so you get a mount that's both stronger and easier to install correctly the first time. 3. Fasten the DS-HD6 into the backing plate's pressed-in lock nuts using the included bolts for a secure, watertight mount.
4. Run the 15 ft. power cable to your router, power panel, or battery bank to complete the connection.
