The Victron SmartShunt 500A is a smart, all-in-one battery monitor that delivers detailed insight into your battery system without the need for a separate display. By continuously measuring voltage and current, it calculates state of charge, consumed amp-hours, time-to-go, and other key metrics, all viewable instantly in the VictronConnect app via built-in Bluetooth. Its minimal wiring and compact design make it ideal for RVs, vans, boats, off-grid cabins, and mobile power systems where clean installation and reliable monitoring are essential.
- Intelligent Battery Monitoring: The SmartShunt tracks battery voltage and current in real time to calculate state of charge (SOC), amp-hours consumed, and estimated remaining runtime. It also stores historical data that can help you understand usage patterns and optimize performance over time.
- Bluetooth Connectivity with VictronConnect: Built-in Bluetooth enables instant access to live data, historic trends, and configuration settings using the VictronConnect app. You can monitor your battery’s status directly on a smartphone, tablet, or computer — without pairing delays or a dedicated display.
- Flexible System Integration: The SmartShunt includes a VE.Direct port and an auxiliary connection for monitoring a second battery, midpoint voltage, or a connected temperature sensor. It can also be connected to a Victron communication center such as a Cerbo GX for local or remote monitoring through the VRM portal.
Rugged Construction & Simple Installation
Although this standard SmartShunt model is rated IP21 and not waterproof, its robust design and minimal wiring requirements make installation straightforward in dry environments. Its compact footprint lets you install it close to the battery bank for precise measurement and tidy cable runs.

Micah is meticulous, I realized when I saw his tool chest, ridiculous organization. They installed and wired my solar panels, roof penetration, prewire Starlink, solar breaker, MMPT solar controller, DC to DC charging, shore power, wire batteries, Lynx distributors, Cerbo GX, air conditioner, MaxAir fan, ran power to my 12V and 120V electrical panels.
